DONALD JUDD: SOME ASPECTS OF COLOR IN GENERAL AND RED AND BLACK IN PARTICULAR, 1993 — The publication was produced on the occasion of the Sikkens Prize being awarded to Donald Judd in 1993. The text was based on the Piet Mondrian Lecture given by Judd. Donald Judd’s work combined an abundantly clear respect for tradition with artistic and intellectual radicalism. In his contribution to art, architecture and furniture design, material, form and color came together in an entirely innovative way. The way in which Judd combined art and color with design and architecture was unique. The publication explains the theories of Donald Judd with regard to the use of color in his own work and in the work of others. Back to index Download text as pdf
