KRIJN DE KONING, 2007 — On the occasion that the 2007 Sikkens Prize was awar- ded to Krijn de Koning, a large publication was published on his work. With his spatial sculptures, which are often temporary and always specific to a particular place, Krijn de Koning examines the infuence of the architectural environment on the physical and mental experience of a space. The route, scale, color and way in which beauty is revealed play an important role in this. In addition to two texts refecting on this by Sven Lüttic- ken and Bas Heijne, the publication contains a visual summary of Krijn de Koning’s work in which illustrations of art works alternate with models and drawings, but also with inspirational photographs taken by the artist.
