2010 DAVID BADE — David Bade, born on Curaçao, moved as a child to the Netherlands, where he studied at a teacher training college and De Ateliers. He won the Prix de Rome for drawing in 1993. Bade’s work includes drawings, paintings and full-scale installations put together from wayward assemblages of polyurethane/ polystyrene foam, plastic, wood and refuse. His work pokes fun, challenges and is critical. Bade went back to Curaçao to join with like-minded artists in setting up the Instituto Buena Bista (IBB), a platform for contemporary art and education. Back
